Like usual, we’re providing a detailed guide on how to install it manually, for those who don’t want to wait until they receive the official update notification.

Everything you need to do in order to flash Nougat update for Xperia Z5 is follow the steps below and you will enjoy the latest features brought by Google’s latest operating system, including Doze, Vulkan API, Seamless update and many others.


Please consider the following aspects before updating, in order to avoid any unpleasant situations or bricking your phone:


  • This firmware is just for the Sony Xperia Z5, so don’t try installing it on another device, since it won’t work.
  • The updating process may erase the data on your phone, so our recommendation is to perform a full backup before starting, for the safer side.

Install Nougat (32.3.A.O.376) Firmware On Sony Xperia Z5


Step 1: Go to Settings > About Phone > Build Number and tap it 7 times, in order to enable Developer Options.

Step 2: From Developer Options, enable USB Debugging.

Step 3: Download the Sony Flash Tool – Download,  and install the drivers.

Step 4: Go to Flash tool > Drivers > Flash tool-drivers.exe and install the Flash tool, Fastboot & Xperia drivers.

Step 5: Download the Nougat FTF File for Xperia Z5, and save it in the Flashtool > Firmware folder.

Step 6: Open Flashtool.exe.

Step 7: Click on Flash Device > Flash mode and select the FTF firmware file you just placed in the Firmware folder.

Step 8: Check Wipe cache, data, APPS_LOG and USERDATA, if you want to perform a clean install. Otherwise, you can simply skip this step.

Step 9: Click on OK and you will see that the firmware will start preparing for flashing.

Step 10: As soon as the firmware is ready, connect the phone to your PC, using a cable, and you will see a message prompting you to turn off the phone, but keep the Volume Down key pressed and plug in the data cable.

Step 11: After your phone will be detected in Flash mode, the firmware will start flashing. Keep holding the Volume Down key, until the process is completed.

Step 12: As soon as the installation is ready, leave the Volume Key and boot your phone normally.

    I noticed there is only the Australian version available. What’s the difference. Like I am from the states, I live in Taiwan. but I use English . So confusinig. In otherwords, will it not work or will it make no difference. They speak English in Australia. When I flashed my last rom there was no language specifications. Thanks in advance! 🙂

      There is actually not much difference as on the first run it will let you choose your prefered language, you can choose Australian english, US english or anyother language. Do not worry much and go for it and feel free to ask for any help if you need.

        Thanks. What about TW whatever recovery, though? After I flash do I need to enter that agin like when I rooted my phone??

          No after flashing completes it will show options to wipe cache so do that and click on reboot system, you will be booted to your new system and if you have further quaries, we have launched our forum just today.
