OnePlus just announced the official OxygenOS 4.1.4 update for OnePlus 3 and 3T, which was released in India recently. This isn’t a major update, but a hotfix, solving issues like screen flickering and designed for this specific region. Since it’s an incremental update, it’s being rolled out in a phase-wise manner, over the air and a lot of users are already getting it.

Please consider the following aspects before installing the update, in order to avoid any issues through the process:
- This method is solely for the OnePlus 3 and 3T. Don’t use it on any other phones because it won’t work!
- The process will not erase the data on the phone. However, it’s advisable to take a complete backup of the phone and just then proceed.
- Make sure that the battery level is at least 50% charged, so you can prevent an accidental shutdown in the middle of the process.

Install OxygenOS 4.1.4 on OnePlus 3 and 3T
Step 1: Go to the phone Settings Menu > About phone > Build Number. Tap it seven times, in order to enable the Developer Options sub-menu.
Step 2: In Developer Options, look for USB Debugging and enable it.
Step 3: Download the ADB and fastboot driver, available here – Download, and install it on a PC.
Step 4: Download OxygenOS 4.1.4 ROM for OnePlus 3/3T From above and copy it in the folder where ADB is installed.
Step 5: Turn off the phone.
Step 6: Boot it into Recovery Mode and choose the Install from ADB Sideload option.
Step 7: Connect the phone to a laptop or PC.
Step 8: Go to the ADB folder and open a command window, by pressing and holding Shift and Right click, at the same time.
Step 9: Check your connection by typing adb devices. If it’s listed, you can flash the ROM.
Step 10: Flash OxygenOS 4.1.4 for OnePlus 3 and 3T by typing adb sideload File Name.zip.
Step 11: Wait for 10 minutes, until the installation is over.
Step 12: Reboot your phone.

Step 2: Reboot the phone into Recovery Mode, by pressing and holding Power + Volume Down button. Wait for the phone to boot into Stock Recovery.
Step 3: Select Apply Update.
Step 4: Select Choose from Internal Storage and look for the .zip file. This will begin the installation. Wait for 10 minutes, until it’s completed.
