OnePlus just started releasing the OxygenOS 4.0.3 update for OnePlus 3T, which is currently rolling out over the air, in a phase wise manner, with a lot of users already receiving it. However, as you probably know, you don’t need to wait until you will receive the official notification, since you can install it manually, as described in the guide below.

Please consider the following aspects before updating, in order to avoid any issues:
- This method is just for the OnePlus 3T, so don’t try installing it on another device. It won’t work!
- The updating process won’t erase your data, but, for the safer side, it’s recommended to perform a full backup.
- Make sure that your battery level is at least 50-60% before starting, so you can prevent an accidental shutdown.
- Follow the steps below correctly, otherwise you may brick your phone!

Step 1: Download OxygenOS 4.0.3. OTA .zip file, and save it on your phone’s internal memory.
Step 2: Go to Settings > System Updates > Settings > Local Upgrade and select the OTA file.
Step 3: The system will ask you if you want to upgrade now. Confirm.
Step 4: Wait for about 10 minutes, until the updating process is complete.
Step 1: Go to Settings > About phone > Build number and tap on it 7 times, in order to enable Developer Options.
Step 2: From Developer Options, enable USB Debugging.
Step 3: Download the ADB and Fastboot driver for your phone and install it on your PC.
Step 4: Download OxygenOS 4.0.3 ROM, and copy it in the same folder where you have installed ADB.
Step 5: Turn off your phone and boot it into Recovery Mode.
Step 6: Choose the Install from ADB Sideload option.
Step 7: Connect your phone to a PC.
Step 8: In the same folder where you have the ROM, press Shift + Right Click, in order to open a command.
Step 9: Check your connection by typing adb devices. If the phone is listed, you can start flashing the ROM.
Step 10: Type adb sideload File Name.zip, in order to begin the flashing process. It shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes.
Step 11: Reboot your phone.
