As you probably know, CyanogenMod is now history, but its place was taken by LineageOS, so users will now get all the future updates from this new operating system. For example, if you own a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, we have some good news for you: a new version was just released! Therefore, if you want to install unofficial Lineage OS 14.1 for Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, everything you need to do is follow the instructions below.
The update brings several new features, but you won’t be able to install it over the air, since it’s an unofficial version, so the only version of doing it is manually. However, you will see that the whole process is very simple!
Before proceeding with installation, please consider the following aspects, in order to avoid any issues:
- This update is just for the Galaxy S7 Edge, so don’t try installing it on another device, since it won’t work at all.
- The update may erase your data, so our recommendation is to perform a full backup, in case something goes wrong.
- Make sure that your phone’s battery level is somewhere around 50-60% before starting, otherwise you risk dealing with an accidental shutdown.
- Please follow the instructions below carefully, without skipping any steps!
- Remember that this is an unofficial update, so you might experience some bugs.
