Install Nougat Firmware on Huawei Mate 9
Method 1 – Recommended
Step 1: First of all, make sure that your phone’s bootloader is unlocked. If it is, you can skip to the next step.
Step 2: Download the HWOTA_MHA.zip file, and extract it on your phone microSD card or your PC.
Step 3: Download the all three files from above. Rename the update_data_full_public.zip package TO update_data_public.zip, then update_full_hw_usa.zip TO update_all_hw.zip.
Step 4 Copy all three of these on your microSD card, inside a HWOTA folder.
Step 5: Run the update.bat file as an administrator. You will get a message asking if you copied the files, then press any key to continue.
Step 6: Connect the phone to a PC, then Reboot into Bootloader mode, by pressing Volume Down + the Power button at the same time. You can also use the adb reboot bootloader command, then press any key. This will install TWRP on your phone.
Step 7: Disconnect the USB cable, then turn off the device.
Step 8: Press Volume Up + the Power button, in order to enter TWRP.
Step 9: while in TWRP mode, plug in the USB cable once again, then press Enter.
Step 10: If the files are saved in the HWOTA folder on your microSD card, type 1, then press ENTER. On the other side, if the files are save in the HWOTA/Update folder on your PC, type 2, then hit ENTER.
Step 11: You will get a message, asking you about the update type. Type 1, then press ENTER twice.
Step 12: The installation process will start. Give it about 10 minutes to finish.
Step 1: Unlock your phone’s bootloader and install a custom Recovery. If you already have these, skip this step.
Step 2: Download the Nougat update file for Huawei Mate 9 from above, and save it on your device.
Step 3: Boot the phone into TWRP Recovery mode.
Step 4: While in TWRP, flash the uppdate.zip file, without rebooting your device.
Step 5: Flash the second update_full_hw_usa.zip file.
Step 6: Wait for around 10 minutes, until the process is ready.
