Even though the OnePlus One was released a few years ago, it’s still a reliable handset and you can now update it to the latest CyanogenMod custom ROM! To be more specific, we’re talking about the official CM14.1 ROM for OnePlus One, a nightly build, but suitable for daily use.
In order to be able to install it on your phone, you need to be rooted and have a TWRP custom recovery installed. Also, we should mention that it’s still missing some important CyanogenMod features, but they will be added over time, through updates. On the other side, you will be able to enjoy features like LiveDisplay, Protected App, Profiles and so on.
Warnings & Requirements
- The ROM is just for the OnePlus One and it won’t work on another device.
- It is an alpha build, so it’s possible to deal with some bugs.
- The update process will erase all your data, so it’s advisable to take a complete backup of your phone before starting.
- Make sure that your phone has an amount of battery between 50 and 60%, so you can avoid an accidental shutdown.
