As mentioned above, the OnePlus 3 is the first phone to get CM14.1 support, based on Android 7.0 Nougat. Sounds good, right? However, it’s worth mentioning that due to the fact that this is an experimental build, it might be missing some important CyanogenMod features, but you can still enjoy Google’s latest operating system on your phone.
The CM14.1 for OnePlus 3 brings new features, like LiveDisplay, Privacy Guard, Protected App, Profiles and many others, on the other side.
Warnings & Requirements
Before proceeding to installation, here are a few important details you should consider:
- This version of the CM14.1 ROM is just for the OnePlus 3, so don’t try installing it on another device.
- Remember that you’re about to install an alpha build, which contains bugs.
- The updating process will completely erase all your data, so it’s advisable to perform a full backup before starting, in order to avoid an unpleasant situation.
- Make sure that your phone has a battery level of around 50-60%, otherwise you risk dealing with an accidental shutdown.

How to Install CM14.1 on OnePlus 3
Step 1: Download and install a custom recovery on your phone. If you already have one, you can skip this step.
Step 2: Download the CM14.1 for OnePlus 3, using the above link, and save it on your phone.
Step 3: Download the Gapps package and save it on your phone.
Step 4:Boot your phone into Recovery mode, by pressing and holding Volume Down + the Power button.
Step 5: While in Recovery mode, create a backup of your data, so you can avoid an unpleasant situation.
Step 6: Perform a factory reset. Go to Wipe > Advanced Wipe and select Wipe cache, Dalvik cache, System and date. Swipe in order to confirm.
Step 7: Go to install and pick the CM14.1 custom ROM for OnePlus 3. Swipe in order to begin the installation process. It shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes to be completed, so be patient.
Step 8: Repeat the step above and install the Gapps package, so you can enjoy all the Google stock apps on the OnePlus 3, as well as the Temporary Wi-Fi fix. The latter can be downloaded from here.
