As you probably know, Samsung needed a lot of time to start updating their latest models, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge to Android Nougat. When it comes to the previous flagships, Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, it took even more. However, they recently released the official 7.0 Nougat OTA for the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6/ S6 Edge, which is nothing but a good news!
Like always, the update is being rolled out over the air, in a phase-wise manner, so it might take a while until all users will receive it. Still, if you don’t want to wait that much, you can also install Android 7.0 Nougat on AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge manually, by simply following the instructions in our guide below!
Please read the instructions below carefully, since they’re vital if you want to avoid any issues during the installation:
- This method works just for the AT&T variants of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge (G920A and G925A). Don’t try it on other phones!
- In order to be able to install the update, your device should be on stock firmware.
- Please check your microSD card, as it has to be decrypted, otherwise you may deal with some problems.
- The process will erase the data on your phone, so our recommendation is to take a full back, then proceed.
- Please ensure that your battery level is around 50-60%, so you can prevent an accidental shutdown, in-between the process.
- Follow all the steps below correctly!
