It has just been over two months now, since Casio debuted the Casio Pro Trek WSD-F20 smartwatch at the CES 2017 (global consumer electronics and technology trade show that takes place every January). And now, the Casio has announced a new and impressive edition of it, the Casio Pro Trek WSD-F20S.
The new smartwatch is also powered with Android Wear 2.0 and also comes with MIL-STD-810G rating, which complements the equipment’s capability to perform in harsh climates and to withstand in extreme weather conditions, just like its predecessor.
Hence, it is again a tough addition to the line that keenly catches the eyes of people, who loves adventures out of the regular urban jungle. But unfortunately, the company has decided to give out this smartwatch as a limited editions, producing only up to 500 units. The new smartwatch, is primarily same as the Casio Pro Trek WSD-F20, but with some sophisticated features.
The Casio Pro Trek WSD-F20S, will go on sale from June 2017 and their price is expected to be about $500. The watch is coming in a catchy case, with a triangle-lid. Moreover, it is expected that the new smartwatch will have a grandstand at the Baseworld in Basel, Switzerland, by next week.
The Smartwatch is designed with a 1.32-inch dual layer screen with both, color and monochrome modes. The watch automatically changes to the monochrome mode, when the battery goes down. Its dimension measures about 61.7 x 57.7 x 15.1 mm and weighs 105 grams. It also packs various sensors, such as pressure sensor, compass, gyro-meter and accelerometer. Since it is water resistant, the smartwatch isn’t damaged, even if it is immersed in water, up to 50 meters depth.
Some of the changes in Casio Pro Trek are, it is canvassed with a blue element and with a sapphire glass display. Its button, screen, and frame are fully coated with ion plating. Though, the previous model was compatible only with voice input and emoji for creating new messages, the new one provides you a small sized QWERTY keyboard and even handwriting recognition. These are the premium features added to this smartwatch to make it scratch resistant and luxurious.
Like the previous model, the Smartwatch also consumes GPS functionality, to track the location, even while gone offline. It has a better battery that can even withstand, charge for more than a day. Since it is running on the Android wear 2.0, it is easier to access the entire app list, by pressing the main button.
