Lately, There have been a lot of rumors about the presumed BlackBerry Mercury, which was supposed to make its official debut at this year’s MWC 2017, in Barcelona.
However, the whole surprised was ruined by the manufacturer itself, as the smartphone, which is actually called BlackBerry KeyOne, was revealed by the official webpage, which has just gone live prematurely, with a few hours ahead of the launch event.
Presented as the newest and most powerful BB with a physical keyboard, as well as the biggest battery ever used by the Canadian manufacturer, the BlackBerry KeyOne is actually made by TCL and it could be a pretty solid alternative to a Samsung or LG model.
To be more specific, it comes with a 4.5″ scratch resistant display, rocking a 3:2 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1620 x 1080 pixels, while under the hood, we’re looking at a Qualcomm-made Snapdragon 625 chip, with an octa-core configuration.
The processor is aided by 3GB of RAM, while the internal storage capacity counts 32 gigs.
Next, the device has a 12MP camera on the back, with a Sony IMX378 sensor, with an f/2.0 aperture and able to shoot 4K videos @ 30fps, while on the front, the KeyOne comes with an 8MP selfie unit, also able to shoot full HD videos.
BlackBerry deserves congratulations for using that sensor, which is the same used by Google Pixel, a smartphone with one of the best cameras ever!
Otherwise, the phone has a 3500 mAh battery, able to charge at 50% in just 36 minutes, as well as a USB Type- C connector, the operating system being Google’s Android 7.1 Nougat.
However, the most interesting features of the BlackBerry KeyOne are the QWERTY keyboard, with customizable actions, and the new design, which looks very good! The phone has a soft touch material on the back and a metallic build, creating a very premium look.
