BlackBerry fans all over the world are looking to seeing the DTEK70, also known as Mercury, making its official debut, expected to happen today, during a special event at CES 2017. However, until that specific moment, we had the chance to take a look at a set of images with, apparently, the actual device.
The leaked images were spotted on Chinese social network Weibo and are showing the black variant of the handset, from both front as well as the back.
After analysing the presumed BlackBerry DTEK70 a bit, it looks very similar to the one seen in the live images that surfaced back in December. Also, the physical keyboard is almost identical to the one teased recently by a TCL executive.
As for the device itself, it’s sporting a pretty big camera module on the back, accompanied by a dual LED flash, while the prominent BlackBerry logo is conveniently placed in the middle.
Spec-wise, the BlackBerry DTEK70 should come with a 4.2″ display, a really unusual size nowadays, and a Snapdragon 625 system-on-chip under the hood, according to the same Weibo post. The processor should be aided by 3 GB of RAM, while the internal storage capacity will most likely count 32 GB. We don’t know if it’s going to have a microSD card slot.
Finally, the phone will be powered by a 3,400 mAh battery, just enough for a phone with a 4.2″ display, we’d say. As for the operating system, it will be Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat, with a few extra BlackBerry goodies.
