Barnes & Noble introduces the new NOOK Tablet 7″ With a price tag of just $49.99

This Christmas, e-readers will definitely be one of the most popular gift choices! If you’re looking to get one as well, but budget is a problem, you should definitely check out the all new Barnes & Noble NOOK Tablet 7″, launched today.

With a price tag of just $49.99, the tablet will be available for purchasing in the retailer’s stores, starting with Black Friday, on November 25. Also, you can order it from Barnes & Noble stores, across the United States, and online.

Ok, so let’s see what you’re getting for that price! For start, the tablet features a 7″ IPS display with a resolution of just 1024 x 600 pixels, resulting a 171 ppi density. It’s not the crispiest display out there, but for 50 bucks, you just can’t ask for more.

Barnes & Noble doesn’t mention much about the NOOK Tablet 7″ specs, but previous rumours were pointing to a quad-core MediaTek MT8163 chip, while the amount of RAM is still unknown. Still, we do know that it has just 8 GB of on board storage, but thanks to the presence of the microSD card slot, you can add 128 more.

The camera department is represented by a 5 MP snapper on the back, if you’re that kind of person who takes photos with a tablet, as well as a 2 MP front-facing unit, great for video calls and, why not, some selfies.

In terms of battery, the NOOK Tablet 7″ comes with a 3000 mAh power pack, which should be enough for 7 hours of reading, web browsing and watching videos. It also features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a microUSB 2.0 power and a 3.5mm jack.

Finally, the operating system is Android 6.0 Marshmallow, with a custom UI, providing access to all Google services, as well as B&N Readouts, so you can enjoy all your favourite books on the go.
