So far, we know that Apple will be launching at least two versions of the iPhone 7: the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus (or the iPhone 7 Pro). The later is said to have a dual-camera setup along with other bumped up specifications. Earlier today, we saw a glimpse of the iPhone 7 Plus in a leaked video.
The video clearly showed the two cameras sitting on the top-left corner of the iPhone 7 Plus’s body. It also showed several colors that will be available for the iPhone 7, including the Rose Gold and Space Gray. The standard iPhone 7 also appeared in the video.
Plus or Pro?
A few weeks ago, we received a rumor that Apple will be launching three iPhones instead of two this year. This sparks a lot of theories about the iPhone 7 Pro, an upgraded version of the iPhone trio with dual-camera and a Smart Connector.
A lot of experts, however, consider the three-iPhone rumor to be very unlikely. Two iPhone 7 on the market should be more than enough. This means we could be seeing the same combination as last year. The iPhone 7 will come with a 4.7-inch display, while the iPhone 7 Plus will have a 5.5-inch display.
The same can be said for the camera. Should there be three iPhones, the dual-camera setup may be reserved for the iPhone 7 Pro only, while both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will use a single camera in each of them.
Which will turn out to be true? Since we’re still a few weeks away from the official launch event in September, I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot of rumors and leaks along the way.
An important point raised by Vlad from GSM Arena: all of the leaked photos and videos only show the back side of the new iPhones. These leaks must indeed be taken with a grain of salt, since there is a chance that the devices shown are actually dummies or models, used in the production of accessories and other items.
It wouldn’t be the first time Chinese manufacturers show unreleased devices to the public. When the iPhone 6 was in production, photos of cases and accessories circulated on the internet, confirming the changes in body design and overall shape of the phone.
Be sure to stay tuned for more updates and confirmation. It will be very interesting to see which of these rumors turn out to be true.
