A Good news for Apple Developers, as the Cupertino-based manufacturer started seeding the third beta of their latest mobile operating system, iOS 10.3, after just two months since the release of iOS 10.2, the first major update to iOS 3.
If you are a registered developer, you can start downloading the beta from Apple’s Developer Center, or wait until you receive it over the air, as long as you have a proper configuration profile installed.
Moving on, it’s worth mentioning that iOS 10.3 can be considered a major update, since it brings some important new features to the operating system, one of the most important ones being Find My AirPods, designed to help owners locate an earphone, in the eventuality of losing it.
The principle is very simple: it records the last location of when one of the AirPods was connected to any of your iOS devices, via Bluetooth, and will play a sound the headphone, so you can find it easier.
Besides this, Apple is also introducing the Apple File system, optimized for flash/SSD storage and including features like high-end encryption, offering you an extra layer of security.
And we’re not done, since iOS 10.3 Beta 3 comes with changes to the App Store as well, allowing developers to check customer reviews and answer them for the first time. They can also label the feedback as “Helpful” or “Not Helpful”, helping surface the most relevant reviews.
Developers will also notice a redesigned app open and close animation, alongside an Apple ID profile in the Settings menu, an improved breakdown of iCloud storage usage, improvements to the SiriKit and many other new additions.
Finally, let’s not forget about the new App Compatibility section brought by iOS 10.3 Beta 3, from the Settings menu, listing apps that will not work in a future version of iOS, a really great addition, if you ask us!
