As we all know that Android’s latest upgrade, Android O, also known as Android 8.0, might launch in next month but today Google has released its final developer preview, which is enough to make you aware of the final features of Android O. This recent release is 4th developer preview and believed as the final preview before official launch of Android O.
To become a beta tester, you have to first enroll your compatible devices in the Android Beta Program. Once you were done, you would receive the OTA update in one of two days. As of now, there are very few devices which are eligible for Android O (DP4) OTA update such as Pixel and Pixel XL, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Pixel C, and Nexus Player.
Talking about features, it seems that the Google has redesigned the setting’s panel & notification panel and also working to make it more customizable as well as more fluid. With Android O update, the slider main menu in setting’s panel will no longer be available. Another major update is navigation bar customization, which is nothing but customizing the navigation bar as per as one’s preferences.
With Android O, users also get an option to customize the lock screen shortcuts, which is obviously a handy option as it can save time. In Nougat update, we received split screen mode and adding more functionality to the same, Google has brought a picture-in-picture mode, which lets users play videos in a floating window.
Additionally, this Android O update also includes a “notification badges” option which shows the unread notification count for different apps. Talking about more features, then this update also includes a new battery menu, improved battery optimization, adaptive icons and much more. We believe that Google will launch the Android O in next month.
