In February, Alcatel announced few entry level devices and one from the list is Alcatel U5. Now, the company has announced an improved version of the same phone with better camera and HD Display. There are few more improvements such as powerful battery and Android Nougat out of the box.
As far as design is concerned, we don’t find any noticeable change except for the design used at the back, as it seems to provide more grip. Like its predecessor, the back camera, and the LED flash sit at center with the Alcatel branding just below them. The USB port remains on the bottom of the device while the headphone jack sits on the top.
The specifications include MediaTek MT6737 processor clocked at 1.1 GHz with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. There is an option to expand storage up to 128GB using an external microSD card. Now, this U5 HD comes with 8MP of primary camera with LED flash and 5MP of selfie shooter. As far as display is concerned, this U5 HD gets a 5.0 inch HD display, which is much better than the U5 model, which supports only 845 x 480 resolution.
Another improved specification is its battery, which is now 2,200mAh, slightly bigger than what we get in U5 model. As of now, the company hasn’t disclosed about its pricing or from when it will be available to purchase. But it is believed that the device would come in two color variant Volcano Black and Pure White. Few leaks suggest that just like U5 HD, Alcatel A3 would also get an upgrade.
