The Chinese smartphone maker, Alcatel made a desperate business with a high-end Windows 10 smartphone, the Alcatel Idol 4s, in the US last year. Now, the phone is getting to the European market, with the moniker Alcatel Idol 4 Pro. To our surprise, the pre-orders for the device has already been started, while its availability is set to be on July 28th.
Talking about its predecessor, the interesting thing about the previous launch was that, the phone came along with a VR headset together in its retail package. But sadly, the newly emerged Idol 4 Pro doesn’t carry the legacy. Yes, the VR headset is missed out now. Further, it will be up for purchase through Microsoft Store, in the UK and Germany, where the prices are £419.99 and €479.99 respectively.
As mentioned, the handset operates on the Windows 10 out of the box but disappointingly incorporates the same old outdated chipset. Talking further about the specs, it carries a 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display; and is adorned with a 21-megapixel rear camera, and an 8-megapixel selfie shooter, as far as the imaging department is concerned.
Moreover, the device bears a fingerprint sensor on the rear, below the camera module; and is energized by a 3000 mAh battery that delivers a standby time of 420 hours or 15 hours of talk time. There is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor driving it, with a 4GB RAM and 64GB of expandable memory.
